Let’s Be
Honest.

Interacting with your family is not easy. In fact, it can be one of the most difficult things ever.

And here we all are, a year of lockdown later, with no places to escape to, longing for the days where we used to passionately debate Islamic school vs public school vs homeschool. And Zoom just swooped in and won the debate.

And no, we can’t be satisfied with drowning the rest of 2021 on Tiktok and Netflx, because when we look up from our screens we’ll still see the people we are dreading spending time with..our family.

And like, we have to talk to them…without being on vacation…Awkward.

Connecting with family, maintaining the ties of kinship may involve incredible sacrifice, and inconvenience, and difficulty.

There’s a reason why it is so rewarding.

The Perspective
Shift

We have to get comfortable with the discomfort that family ties bring.

There’s a reason why Jannah is tied to the maintaining of the ties of kinship.

And that breaking the ties of kinship is a major sin.

But no one talks about it.

Yes, we would all love to have parents who are supportive and undemanding, spouses who are loving and understanding, children who are respectful and responsible, relatives who are considerate…

Then There's
Reality

That’s a nice fantasy, but that’s not life is it?

There’s a reason this course is called Protect This House, not Enjoy This House

It can be challenging, and everything that is challenging in the religion, we are trained on..

We are taught about lowering the gaze, about the challenge of waking up for fajr, about parting with our money for charity…

But we are not trained on, or prepared for, dealing with a crazy cousin, an intrusive parent, or a disrespectful spouse.

Then there are the kids!

There’s no raising children without sacrifice. That’s just the way that it goes.

Learning can be outsourced, but tarbiyyah cannot.

Protect This House by Shaykh Abu Eesa Niamatullah is a blockbuster seminar that cities have requested to return to them again and again for the past decade. And it’s finally online, worldwide.

ABOUT
SH ABU EESA

Shaykh Abu Eesa Niamatullah has taught Protect This House: The Muslim Family in the Modern World for over a decade throughout the AlMaghrib world. It is one of our most repeatedly attended seminars due to the incredible dynamic and highly engaging nature of the seminar.

Shaykh Abu Eesa combines experience, ‘ilm and a modern understanding with application which is unique and utterly relevant. His teaching style of intense discussion and constant back and forth with students has made him treasured by our student body as one of our most passionate, knowledgeable, and quick witted senior instructors.

Born in London, England, he studied both Pharmacy at the University of Manchester, then Anthropology, and then later studied Arabic, Islamic Law and Qur’an with its memorisation from scholars in a diverse array of locations in the East and West. His time spent with many different teachers has led to a real variety of experiences and depth in the Islamic Sciences which are so famously expressed in Shaykh AE’s multi-dimensional da’wah and teachings.

Shaykh Abu Eesa previously served as the Resident Scholar of Cheadle Masjid in South Manchester, yet still continues to teach Fiqh weekly there as part of our onsite + online initiative known as “Logical Progression.” He is also the Vice-Chair of the Al-Qalam Sharī‘ah Panel, the UK’s premier fatwa body for legal and financial concerns.

Protect This House was a truly transformational experience and I would highly recommend it to every single person. There isn't a season in one's life that this course isn't of benefit to.

This was my first Al-Maghrib course. I am a family-oriented person and always gave preference to family above everything else. I assumed I was doing everything the right way. However, when I took this course I realized how much more love, respect, and dedication I needed to show towards my parents and distant family members. I have learned never to break family ties no matter how much your distant family might have hurt you!

Alhumdulillah, excellent choice of topic to study because this course gives us the key tools to tackle our daily challenges in terms of our issues at home. Unless these issues are solved it is hard to balance our dunya and akhira. Do not miss the opportunity to take this course because you truly appreciate the importance of your role in your family and the Muslim community you live in.

This course was an eye-opener for me as a revert/new Muslima. I now on will try my best with relationships with family members, knowing that it does not matter whether Muslim or not. When Allah speaks of kinship, their religion is not important!

I was hesitant initially to register for the course given my short span of attention. But Sheikh Abu Eesa did an amazing work of keeping everyone interested and alert. Highly recommend it to everyone. I would have made a lot of mistakes in raising my child if it wasn't for attending this course.

I learned to appreciate my mother more, and when is best to have more kids. I learned to not use the Quran and sunnah against anyone in getting your rights, especially with your spouse because that's a red flag to your relationship. I learned what school to send your kids to, private vs public and how to make them memorize the Quran. I totally recommend this course for parents, and single people- the future parents.
